I guess I should have introduced myself for the ones that don't know me.

I'm Shawn, I'm 45, live in PA, and a fairly new blacksmith/knife maker. I'll be putting in for my hobbyist badge soon so I'll be able to show off some of my stuff.
As far as shaving, I have a collection of DE, SE, and straights including a straight from my own forge.

Other hobbies are pistol shooting and instructing, and I used to rock climb before having a hip surgery at the oh so old age of 44.... Other than that, not a lot to tell other than I am fairly warped.

Sounds like a grand old time with those kinds of hobbies! Great to know!

I love knives! I used to collect, but haven't bought anything other than EDC pocket knives in years.(Too busy buying shaving soaps, brushes, and razors, no doubt

) Someday I would like to set-up a small shop and forge knives as a hobby. Maybe after I retire. If I ever retire.

I grew up shooting. I grew up about a mile outside Sugar Grove, PA. And, if anyone knows where that is without Googling, I'd be impressed! It is a very small town and I lived outside of that, so yes I grew up a country boy.

I know where that is. My dad used to work for a oil and gas supplier and worked on a bunch of gas stations. One or two he worked on were there. And I have worked at the big foundry outside of Warren. I drive through Jamestown if I go to Erie, so I pass over it. I live a little outside of Bradford.

Are you still in the area at all?
