Hmm. They don’t usually need lubrication so much as they need to be cleaned/dried. If the TTO is stiff or sticky it is probably gunked up. I’ve done a couple restoration jobs on fat boys but never had the need to really tear down a Superspeed. If they are really gunked up I usually do hot water and soap soaks but I had one that needed much more. I used pb blaster soaks to free it up. I soaked it and kept it in a ziplock I boiled it in the bag then let it sit a few days. It helped but stunk for weeks.
If I were to want to lubricate a razor I suppose I might use a mix of alcohol and lanolin (like case lube for reloading). A 10% lanolin and 90% high strength isopropyl would work.
Could also use balistol, it penetrates well and is very light. I use it on my oil hones and to wipe down blades.
Heavy gunk can sometimes be taken care of by using Scrubbing bubbles. Make sure it gets down into the TTO mechanism. I've used WD-40 before but it requires a really good soak to get the oily smell out.
I usually use scrubbing bubbles to clean my gear, it does surprisingly well on stuff that’s been sitting for years and has the original vintage gunk all over it.
