First time posting here. I officially started my wet shaving journey about a year and half ago. Started out with the Henson and after awhile concluded it was just too mild. I then switched to a Rockwell T2 and I didn't get along with it. A friend of mine lent me his Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 and I fell in love with it. I bought one for myself and it's been my daily shaver for about 6 months now. I also have a vintage Weck sextoblade used in the US Navy that I use once or twice a week. In my collection I have 2 aristocrats, a red tip, silver tip and a blue tip. I mostly use the 3ONE6 and the red tip, occasionally I'll use an aristocrat.

Welcome.
The EJ was one of my earlier purchases too. It is a relably good razor. I have hundereds of various vintage razor now, some are far better than others but the "basic" Gillettes always make me happy. One of the most memorable shaves I have had was with a 1940's Super Speed loaded with a BIC yellow blade. I also enjoy using my old ugly Aristocrat, always a great experience.
I also have a couple of those Weck's...AWESOME is the best way to describe them. With the guard on they are SO easy to use they rival any DE for speed and comfort. Without the guard they require a little more attention but are still great.

I do enjoy the Weck gives a BBS shave in 2 passes, but if you slip up in the slightest you'll pay for it. I've never used it with the guard on might have too tinker around with that. I still struggle with the neck area, I just need to practice more.

I usually use it without the guard, but when I've tested out the guard it is nice. Super easy shaves will be had with the guard, it's very intuitive to use and the shaves are smooth. It's like having training wheels.

Same here. I love my Wecks. Which blades do you use? And welcome to the cadre!

So far I've only tried the Diane blades, I have the personna blades ready to try next. The Diane blades are super sharp
I find the Diana blades and Personna blades to be pretty similar, although I think I prefer Personna. I recently scored some Personna Medical Prep blades that work well, but I’m not sure they are a significant improvement over the regular Personna. Now if you want a blade that feels noticeably sharper go for the Fromm blades. They are a little more expensive (I think I paid $9 for 5 blade's vs $6 or so for Diana or Personna) but are noticeably sharper. I’ve never been harmed by the Fromm without the guard but I definitely prefer using the guard with them.

@CBLindsay I'll definitely give those a try and I've used the guard on 2 of my last 3 Weck shaves. I have to say that's one of my favorite ways to shave now. Thanks for putting me on to that method.

I own more than one Weck razor with the guard (I prefer the flat bar guard to the open comb guard) so I keep one set up with the guard on one side and another with the guard on the other side then alternate the razors during the shave depending on which side/quarter of my fac I am shaving. It keeps me from needing to swap the gaurd around during the shave.
