Welcome to The Cadre, and your new home in the Wet Shaving community! Good to have you here. Lots of amazing people here so anything you want to know, or need to ask, we're here for you!
Lots to see, read, and get involved with here. We're much more than just a wet shaving forum. I'm here for the camaraderie more than anything else. We have so much fun. In addition to the traditional SOTD type posts, we also have a lot of Shave VLOGers, we have a section of Shaving Journals, host bi-weekly Zoom Calls, play Forum Bingo bi-monthly, bi-monthly “fantasy” sumo contest, host an annual Holiday Gift and Card exchange, and so much more.
Aside from Shaving, we’re also into pipes, cigars, coffee, watches, guns, cars, astronomy, fitness, food, alcohol, pets, beekeeping, gardening, music, movies, and just about any other hobby out there. If you don’t see a thread already about a hobby you’re interested in…. start one!
All these activities make us more than just a Forum or Wet Shaving Community. We’re a Brotherhood, a Family, or simply put: The Cadre! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Currently I'm really enjoying the Rex Ambassador. I mostly use MWF, however I'm giving Rex Supply Co 1955 soap a go. I really enjoy the matching splash. To me it has a very different face feel. The first time I used it it really caught me by surprise.

What is your current setup for learning straight razors? Loads of us around here who enjoy them and even more of us who are obsessed with them!

Currently I use a Ralf Aust 5/8 round. I'm have approximately 10 SR shaves in the books. I am really enjoying the SR journey. Big learning curve for sure. Thank goodness I've had more weepers than cuts! The first time I got that smooth glide across my cheek...I thought this is what everyone is talking about...

Great razor to start with! I have one and have enjoyed it! Congrats on the first few shaves and please keep us updated. If your edge starts tugging, please reach out there are loads of us that like to hone and would be happy to help you keep going. AND when you're ready to start honing, we'd be happy to point you to resources and of course enable you to buy all the stones you need.
