Greeting from ZIMBABWE

Welcome! I have been to Zimbabwe on several occasions. What part are you from?

I am someone who enjoys shavettes. I will say that I had a hard time adapting to the Feather. It has a bit of a ridge on the blade clip that I never got on well with when trying to get the right angle. My first go with it I got a pretty nasty cut. I can do fine with it now, but it isn't ever my first reach.

Regarding blade sharpness, I actually find I cut myself less with a sharper blade, because I don't experience the tugging that causes me to hesitate, and I don't feel like I have to apply extra pressure.

If you want a shavette that feels more like a straight, I recommend a Weck with Personna Hair Shaper blades. More of the blade is visible, which gives you a better view of angle. I own and love several of them.

wow , on work ? Or holiday ? I live in Harare . I am getting better with feather now, haven’t had a cut since my second shave . In regards to blade sharpness , that is an interesting theory ,and it makes sense . I am going to test it

Welcome to the Cadre! The Feather AC is a nice piece of kit, but like everything new, it can take some time to get used to.

Work and pleasure. I have a dear friend in Zimbabwe. Met his family on a work trip, and we have visited each other a couple of times.

Welcome @KRS. My family and I spent several days at the Victoria Falls Hotel in May/June 1982. Went there after Salisbury became Harare. We had been living and working on the Sasol II and III refineries in Secunda South Africa. Vic Falls was beautiful and still safe at that time, though I heard that it became less so after our stay. As soon as we arrived I walked from the hotel to the falls with my 2 year old on my shoulders. It was a wonderful experience. I learned after we came back to the US that that was no longer a safe thing to do. I shared an office at the worksite with a guy who owned a farm in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and used to let co-workers rent his farm for RSA Rands so he could get some value for his property as they would only allow land owners to take a limited amount of dollars out of the country. Beautiful place!! Again, welcome!
