...Also, like you, I’m in for the razor, if for no other reason, than to send a message to Gillette that there is a demand for them. Maybe some day they’ll do it right.
They won't. Not nearly the $$ in it.

No, I know. I’ve made that point many times myself. But one can dream. They won't. Not nearly the $$ in it.
Uh.... you think I know? I will say this, though. Gillette’s old blades used to have date codes printed right on the blades, just like their razors did.Hey @Spider your initial pictures have a date on the blades which looks like a “produced on” date. What gives ? Blades don’t expire and who cares that they were produced a few weeks ago as blades do have “a sell by date”. If it’s for QC a lot number would be enough. I don’t get it cause it can’t be marketing or consumer safety regulations or can it ?
gosh Dave, way to show me up on the pictures lol I like that yours look gold in that lighting.Well, On A whim headed down to the Walgreens near the House and even though online stated none in stock, nor anywhere in stores, low and behold there they were Two of them and all the other new King Gillette Stuff,. So what the heck One to play with and one to be part of the collection. Would not surprise me if these are EJ-89 Caps and bases as they are almost identical. Good heft, for me more about just having one LOL. review tomorrow

You faired better than me. Out to get a screen door and some supplies to frame down to it for the front deck. Stopped at the Walgreens the next town north of us and they were sold out. And apparently not putting them out one of the time as the spot was empty. Although they had their carts right there in the display.Well, On A whim headed down to the Walgreens near the House and even though online stated none in stock, nor anywhere in stores, low and behold there they were Two of them and all the other new King Gillette Stuff,. It’d be funny if Gillette sold more DEs than carts from this new display.
only because when the sales tank, they take it off the market everyone will want one HAHAHA, The Nature of the shaving worldI had their AOS one and quickly sold it for what I paid for it at discount: $20. They say this one is the same Mühle 89 head which I despise. People either love or hate this "Merkuresque" style scalloped head and I am in the latter group obviously. IMO the Gillette Tech "buries" it. Personally, I see zero collector value in it. After all, a Gillette DE razor made in China?
I had their AOS one.....
