I’ve found a few straights with French points - I was wondering if there are any thoughts on them? Are they more for experienced shavers similar to Spanish points?

Nothing scary about a French point at all. It's just the swept back spine that makes it appear dangerous, when it should be simply considered as almost a round tip with a little extra taken off of the top. Square, Spanish and Spike tips are where you can give yourself fish gills.

I was wrong, I have a French point on my Torrey. I was thinking of the Spanish point I was chasing.It’s all fun and games until someone loses an upper lip
Well since our Canadian friend speaks well of them and you have one - it must be good!
I have a few, and one with a Muted tip ( Wacker Chevalier ) one non muted the viking . Spanish points are fun too, but like to "filet a bit more often

Just wait until you start looking at kamisoris and get to say kewl wurdz like Ura and Omote.
I lost out on a Whacker and then these came up - I love the scales on them - but I already have a TI 5/8 and I doubt the 6/8 would be much different….
But they have the TI French Point which I thought was neat….

FWIW The last time I used straights was 2017.... Wapi, Azuma kamisori, and a Feather SS AC. I actually think that @Majorrich has them all right now. Before that, MANY different makes, models, grinds and tips passed through my house over a period of around 6 years.
