Anyone else interested in these soap/AS combos from Barrister and Mann? I purchased the Fougere Gothique soap a couple of years ago and really like the scent. Perfect for autumn, particularly once the leaves change and there is a slight chill in the air. I'm seriously considering the matching AS and soap/AS set for Fougere Angelique.

I am. I didn't try the Gothique for its first run, but I will on Aug. 30th and probably the Angelique as well.

On the other hand, their vid for their upcoming Lyssa is beyond bizarre!!! :oops:


 
I purchased a sample of the Fougere Gothique cologne a while back. It's very dark and I like it..... I just don't get any Fougere from it..... but it's totally Gothique! It's actually what I wanted Hallows to be. But there's something off in Hallows to me. Maybe too much Frankinsence. I don't know, but I cannot wear the cologne, it's just too much.

But I do enjoy the Fougere Gothique and I'm thinking about buying the set when it comes out. Also curious about the Angelique. And very interested in the Lyssa scent as well.
 
Oh snap. Today's the day. Going to order the bundle. Wish they had the EdP too.....

"There was an issue with the original bottles the EdP came in and B&M had to source new bottles. We should have them soon, but I don't know how soon.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Interesting... I ordered the Angelique set and the Gothique AS (already have the soap). I didn’t see this update, so I guess we’ll see what happens...

EDIT: But I guess it’s not an issue for me because its the EdP bottles. Read John, READ! 🤪

Bummer! Looks like they are coming though. Looking forward to trying them. I enjoy the performance of B&M, but I am love it or leave it on the scents. Love Tuesday and Promises.
 
Sorry, guess I should have clarified.... I asked Maggards about the EdP, because B&M said they were coming out together. This was the response Maggards sent me. I had a sample of the EdP, and it was amazing. It’s very expensive, but I do love it.

I understood, you are waiting on the EdPs. I should clarify that I am looking forward to trying the soaps.

No, I also ordered the soap and AS.... just hoping to order the EdP at the same time.

Will stated (on a different forum) that Brad from Maggards specifically requested the Reserve base for the Gothique and Angelique soaps. The Aftershave will also be in the old Reserve formula rather than the new Deltus for continuity across the product line. I like both the new Excelsior base/Deltus formula and the old Reserve base/ AS formula. I used both this week. I have Seville in Reserve and Beaudelaire in Excelsior. Based on what Will has said in the past, Excelsior is an improvement over Reserve. I think he was surprised that Maggards requested the soaps in Reserve base and was not particularly happy having to explain this decision on that other forum.

I am really curious about this soap and wrestled over whether to place an order. Some are calling this a masterpiece. I have too many masterpieces in my collection as it now stands so I have not pulled the trigger.

Can you provide a review, at least on the scent? I have a Reserve soap so have some idea as to what that base is like.

I have not smelled it, but I cannot help but notice several people on other forums disliking Gothique intensely. No more "canary in a coal mine" B&M purchases for me. I will await the samples in a few weeks.

I really like the scent. There is an undertone of wet earth/leaves. I also get kind of an ashy smell, but I find it pleasant. Nothing else really stands out to me individually, but it all blends together into what I view as a “dark fougere.” As I said, I really like it. Perfect for fall. Out of the bottle, the AS is a bit sweeter to me than the soap, but they blend together nicely upon application. The scent is also quite long lasting to me, 6+ hours and I’m still getting whiffs. Hope this helps!
