DE Razor of the Day

New acquisition razors . 3 days of shaves

All shaves with CajunBlade Daiquiri Shack Shave Soap, same Gillette Platinum blade. DS cosmetics Dragon Palace shave brush with Manchurian Silvertip Badger Knot. Alum, Witchhazel Lilly of the Valley(homemade). Nivea sensitive shave balm.

First Razor: 1921 New Improve Gillette silver old type single ring. Very efficient open comb, 1 tooth bent on 1 side. Doesn’t effect shave. Except for bent tooth it's mint condition. 2 pass and a touch-up DSS-BBS

Second razor: 1930 The Probak Razor from Autostrop. In the late 20's, Henry Gaisman patented his blade shape to fit this razor, putting the Gillette NEW in serious legal peril. Gaisman's blade patent was nearly identical to that submitted by Gillette a bit later. How could that happen? Industrial espionage? coincidence? Anyway, Gillette tried to fight Gaisman off, but they eventually had to settle, Gillette had been playing funny with the books, and Gaisman took over Gillette.
Shaves pretty much Identical to the 1921 New Improve Gillette silver old type single ring.

3rd razor : 1961 first year Aristocrat Slim Adjustable 24k Gold , date code G 3. Set on 5. Same as my 1961 Fatboy($1.95 Adjustable)same Date code. Fatboys replaced with Slims hence their nickname Fatboy. So I have last production Fatboy and first production Slim Aristocrat now. Gotta love vintage razor collecting.
