The brush on the left is my Key Hole 4 Best showing the darker yellowish ring on the surface of the brush. The core, on the other hand, is more white. For contrast the brush on the right is a Duke 3. Both brushes are modern red box “ Made in Great Britain” brushes. I bought the Key Hole new about a year ago. I have just never seen this before on any of the Simpson brushes that I own.
