Well, it was very nice of the folks in California to send us that wonderful storm with 50 mile an hour winds, cold temperatures and rain, and it wasn’t even our birthday.

A very nice shave today with some items that I don’t use very often, including a wonderful shave soap from Utah, and in a sandalwood fragrance. Unlike most, I’m not a huge sandalwood fan I think that’s primarily because it can be somewhat cloying in warmer climates however, today’s weather dictated the shave, I also brought out the unattainable Crabtree and Evelyn extractiof Mysore sandalwood. If, and when you can find it the original RP in the store 24.95,but again if you can find it it is going somewhere north of $350-$400

So, nowadays, I use it very sparingly. Anyway, DSBB with the Blackland Osprey, as well as black watch for the aftershave

Moral wind, rain, and cold temps again for the next three or four days. Hopefully we won’t have the damage that the poor folks in California did.

Hope everybody has a wonderful Wednesday in my case…… Monday🫤

I love me some Sandalwood. That and Irisch Moos, and I’d be set for life. On a deserted island, alone, because my wife can’t tolerate the aromas.

With all this extra water....just picture.....3 months from now....how incredible the foliage will look. Every cactus will be twice as green as usual.

Yep and the wildflower season will be awesome. And my groundwater well will fill back up.

It’s funny, when you use the same product day after day in the shop, and on your clients, you become a little bit nose blind to the fragrance.

So today, as they taught us in perfumer school, I took in some fresh espresso, coffee grounds with me into the shave den and inhaled deeply before I began shaving with spaghetti western. Yes, there’s a reason why they have drug dogs sniff coffee first..it really cleared out my olfactory palate, and allowed all the fragrance notes to come alive.

This is good stuff if I do say so myself, and is the perfect evolution from the original
Hombres barbershop fragrance.

Three passes today with the Osprey and a beautiful DSBB shave. Finished off with the CBL, witch hazel and Mary Kay tribute for men which is just perfection in a bottle.

Hope everyone has a great Friday as you head into the weekend

I'm just being curious....but is there anything in your shave den that you DON'T like? I don't know that I've ever heard you complain about a product...well, maybe Williams...but you're clearly wrong on that occasion.

Oh I like Williams there’s a lot in my den that I don’t like I’ll have to do a video on it

You have to define "don't like". One example I can think of is how much @BarberDave loves the scent of his ADP soap but as much as he likes the scent he has often said it is a stinker of a soap base.
