Man, I remember that night like it was yesterday. I remember it was soooo hot that day. Highs in the 80's and very humid. The things that stand out most is huddling in the hallway of my childhood home with a mattress angled between the walls, covering us. I remember my mom cooking us egg sandwiches to eat before the power went out and I remember walking out onto our front porch with my dad and seeing a funnel cloud. It looked like a huge tree trunk floating in the sky.
