Anyone know anything about Flat Caps?

I'm looking to get a new hat. I'm looking at a flat cap.

I am seeing several styles:

Anyone wear a flat cap? I really don't care for the 8 panel "Newsboy" style and I think I like the last one.

What are the traditional fit and things I should know be for purchase.

All i know is when i tried one on once, i was laughed at and informed it did not suit me. lol I've always like the look of the ones like that last pic though.

Yup, I go for the more traditional look, with and without "hideable" ear flaps. #2 is where it's at!

IMO - Good for semi-formal outfits (dress slacks/pleated shorts and a button up shirt/polo) or “boat” wear (think Hamptons) so long as you have either gorgeous, longer, kempt hair or a well kept shorter cut. Not a lot of guys can pull them off with casual wear. Not good for guys with large noggins.

I had one of the 3rd style in the 90s for a number of years...just could not pull it off well. The missus hated the hat.
