Aftershave of the Day

Ok so I’m thinking about trying proraso shave cream, aftershave, splash and balm. Thoughts? They have a couple different types. White, green, red….which is the most popular among the group?
Also trying to find clubman sandalwood splash to give a try as well

Proraso is good! I have tried and enjoy the Red and Green. It’s kind of a basic, no frills Italian soap, but it’s decent.

Green is my favorite.

Why are you not a fan? Please tell me about this scent as I have not tried the soap or the aftershave .
It isn't aligned with my preferences for an aftershave. It's alcohol free, and I smell a creosote-like "medicinal" scent. So it's sort of tar water to me. Another example of how getting both a soap and a splash as a blind buy is really a parlay bet without the big payoff. I'm of the mind that while some scents move easily between soap and splash, great soapmakers aren't necessarily great splash makers, SV being a big exception.

Timmermann soap is nice. Not a classic like I'd hoped given the groovy visual package, but the aftershave is a weak chemical smell. I could sanitize my hands for years with the bad aftershave I've collected. It's the big sink hole of my den. I have a set of aftershaves I like, made mostly by aftershave makers. Go figure.

Given my woefully inadequate set of connections between word and scent brain cells in my head, I'll give Timmermann the last word on their scent. This probably says more about me than about Timmermann:

"You can’t go wrong with Timmermann Red Label, it’s a solid aroma that turns heads all the time… want to stand out and kill everyone’s scent in a room? Look no further, this stuff is really good and not for a boy, it’s for a manly dress up occasion. With rum, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon, woody and some powdery notes."
