3one6

Unofficial info.
It should cost 119$, for all versions. Handle is CNC, head is injection molded. Finish is done with hand and machine polishing and chemical treated as medical tools. When? Don't know.

Injection molded stainless steel? Interesting...unless the head is zamak (pot metal) like their normal razors...

To my understanding, it's all 316 stainless, except for grip part on color version (made in 3 part, middle one is anodised aluminium. And head is stainless, made by MIM, metal injection molding.

I am intrigued by this. I get great shaves from my DE89 and I like the stainless steel. I am curious about the new head though and wonder how it will affect the shave.

MIM technology is very good IFFFFFFFFF it is done by a top shelf company. Oft times it is "farmed out" to Third World companies and...........well all bets are off. The firearms industry is full of both types of MIM, good and incredibly bad.

They stated that it will be 100% made in England, which is good. We'll see. As for me, if I decide to go for it, it won't be in the first six (or more) months. Because Rocca ;)
Anyway, no reason to be afraid, it's not 10mm hot ammo in something new🙂

Okay, the hype is over. In the US, Shave Nation now has them for $119

For those that are cheap and want to save a couple of bucks, English Shaving Co has them for a little less at around $100

I found out from another forum that if you did not let the web page convert to USD and just complete your order in GBP, you will end up paying around $85.

Shipping to the US is VERY reasonable.

It should be around 80 usd, because of excluded VAT (62.5 gbp).

My 3one6 arrived from England today and I immediately opened the box and assembled the razor. I choose the knurled stainless steel handle and was surprised that it was a tube with the ends glued. Overall weight including the head was very light. It was balanced, however the handle was thinner than I am comfortable with.

First shave and I immediately had to adjust the angle. There was much blade feel and slightly rough shave. I immediately tilted to the cap more and it shaved very well, much like the Mamba. The shave itself was very comfortable and I ended up with a two pass plus touch up BBS.

A week ago I had the Carbon Shaving CX in a pass around on another forum, and these two razors were very similar where you get a different feeling in the shave depending on the angle you choose. That is also similar to the Rocca and R41. It was a very enjoyable shave, however I have already replaced the handle. :happy

Thanks for your thoughts. I almost joined the Carbon Shaving CX in a pass around but can't see myself ever buying it.

My first razor was a DE89, and I just can't see myself wanting that style again, for me it's a weird combo of aggressive but inefficient.

The 3one6 is definitely not a DE89. I found it to be very efficient, but you needed to find the right angle for yourself. The DE89 really didn't allow for many efficient angles, and the few efficient ones were medium efficient at best. It truly was a beginner's razor whose main purpose was to not allow you to hurt yourself.
