25/26 Snowpacalypse

Sticking with our inconsistent theme....
Saturday it rained and froze. A quarter of an inch of ice on the car...
Yesterday it was 48f when I came into work at 6am. It was below freezing by noon and 21 and snowing by the time I left at 2:30....
This morning was complete white out on the way into work. Of course the plows haven't been out so its trying to see past the hood far enough to attempt keeping it between the ditches.

I really don't mind snow that much, but make up your freaking mind!

We had a great weekend. Saturday's high was 70. Then temps fell on Sunday from 65 to 19 degrees! Only a dusting of snow. This week temps are low, I think winter is finally here to stay.

Our weather is still all over the place , Currently 33 but getting back to around 70 in the next few days here and at our place in Florida its currently 46 and then back to 70's or 80's !! This weather is crazy and I bet making lots of people sick fluctuating so much...

Still up and down here....
Tues on the way in it was 47. Yesterday it was 41 and getting ready to rain. Today it was 19 and 3 inches of snow on top of the frozen rain from yesterday...

We had upper 30's yesterday, now solid 11 today. I usually through down some CMA (Calcium Magnesium....I have doggies, and needed pet safe alternatives to Calcium Chloride and rock salt) to melt the ice; but with temps so low, it wouldn't evaporate by nightfall, just exacerbating the problem. My neighbor asked me yesterday why I didn't throw any down and I told him because the forecast calls for several days of below 20 highs. He threw his down, and now; instead of patches of ice on his sidewalk, the entire thing is covered in thin, slick, and barely perceptible ice. I'll be wearing my ice cleats for a week or two now.:mad:

We've only had one snowy week all winter, here in Eastern Missouri. We typically get our coldest and snowiest days at the end of January, so we'll see.

Looks like a bunch of CONUS is in for a significant snow event this weekend. Having a ton of advance notice has allowed the News to go collectively apoplectic and causing regular, level headed people to rush the stores like locusts and rendering the shelves bare.
It is pretty cold today for January in Ohio at ~7 F and there is nary a flake at 1100 24Jan2026. Iv3 been to the store for a bag of onions and some CocaCola that is on special. I’ll leave the Cokes in the garage/walk in cooler. I have test run the generator because my neighborhood loses power when the wind changes direction. While at the store, I noted a number of people doing their monthly shopping and buying enough bread and toilet paper to last out the event if it stretches into September.
I wish my brothers who will be in the affected region a safe couple few days during the event itself. And, of course the admonition to exercise reasonable prudence when venturing out into the weather. We’ll all be fine, but stupid being both a verb and a noun, caution they these will be out and about too. Take care brothers.

Welp we did end up with an about 12” of snow (a lot for around here) Our county is under a level 3 snow emergency. This means the roads are closed except for emergency traffic. The snow is quite powdery, but there’s just a bit more than what I can tackle in one go at my driveway. It’s still snowing, but I do at least have a short runway to hit the snow then maybe the car can chew through the snow. While this certainly doesn’t rise to the epic snow @ShawnF and @Fenster see, it’s big for us. I wonder how others fared?

We had like 3-4 inches on Saturday. Roads were fine Sunday. Roads are even better today.

Schools are still cancelled and the base had later reporting to 10AM. It's dumb.
