Yes KJ, I ran Conventions for our Motorcycle Group for about 10 yrs, so wherever we decide we will look for all possible accomodations. Also as we grow in attendance each year, those discounts and perks will get larger.I wonder if whatever venue we choose will have a group discount for our group. It's small compared to many, but it's still a decent amount. A discount could help sway us to a place, which would be good for them in the long run.
RightMost vegas hotels offer a discount rate on rooms for convention visitors. But that would have to be negotiated between the planners and the hotel. Often the number of people attending and staying in the hotel can make the discount bigger. That's one of the reasons that encouraging everyone to decide on a particular area of town is helpful. But it really helps the planners if everyone books rooms at the same hotel as the convention. More money being spent at the hotel, more discounts for the attendees.
PLus remember we will have a "host hotel" but everyone can stay where they want, as folks will make their own bookings as to hotels. The host hotel however will have a Convention Code folks will use for the reservation, and determining this will and will have the hotel require us to block a certain number of rooms under that convention code. All this helps for us to get a Final Dinner Night room, breakout rooms for vendors down the line and so forth. The only item TSC members will be paying the TSC for is the Welcome package, which will inlcude some activities if we get enough interest... That is the next poll, LOLDude, we get the Wynn for $119/night. Just sayin'
Important to vote and all that stuff
