What's in front of you?

I was at a quilt show yesterday. Among the quilts there, were some vintage & antique quilts. This one dates from 1950. Note that there are 48 stars; the number that would have been on a flag when my parents created me. (Alaska became a state while I was a work in progress & Hawaii, a few months after I was born.)

Our quilt guild held our show yesterday. We had lots of visitors who truly appreciated our work, They also bought raffle tickets & items we had for sale. All of this is important as A)we are proud of our work and B) we use these shows to raise money for Staten Island based charities. Here I am with one of my quilts.

A couple of notes about the apron I am wearing. We all wear them at the shows, as it identifies us as Guild members. We are encouraged to decorate and personalize them. I embroidered my name and the sewing machine on mine. The pink dots are snaps on the pockets- my addition.
