Bingo Game #78 Cruise Ship Bingo

Cruise Ship Bingo day 11

At sea....again.

Turns out the Gulf of Mexico is rather large. But it was perfect weather the entire time and the seas were very clam so no complaints from me. Another sleep in day. A bit of a light breakfast up in the buffet and then off for some more trivia. Today was one of those "you just keep moving" days. After TV trivia we headed up to the mini golf up on the pool deck. Kinda fun. This being my first time playing mini golf on a moving ship....it was less move-y than I thought it would be.

For lunch we booked the hibachi location. Nice and enjoyable. The chef couldn't use any of the fire tricks (fire on a cruise ship is not a good thing) so he was super funny and he sang a lot. Totally worth the price. (It bears repeating....the lunch prices are less than half and the menu is exactly the same).

I booked a shave in the spa for the final night of the cruise since its also the formal night. The shave was not bad....a shavette with some kind of warm lather. I tried inquiring about brands and such but he seemed to not pick up on my curiousness. The part that I liked was that after the shave I got to sit for a few minutes under a nice warm towel and then a masseuse gave me a scalp massage. Any lingering stress I may have had was completely gone by the time that was finished.

pre-dinner pint.

Formal dinner has been renamed "Dress Your Best" and the table next to us never once came to dinner NOT wearing shorts and t-shirts. All 8 of them. But for tonight....they showed up in collared shirts. And shorts. I wore a tie (so take that ya hillbillies) and since its the final night of the cruise....they pull out all the stops in the dining room. On a cruise ship...you can order anything on the menu.....and they encourage you to order as much as you'd like. Want to try two appetizers? No problem. Can't decide between the steak and the salmon....they'll bring you both. More than 1 dessert? They'll bring you 3. So the final night is always Lobster tail night.......I had surf and turf and surf and surf. Tiger shrimp appetizer and a steak and 2 lobster tails. So yummy. So much butter.

After dinner I headed down to the sports bar and watched the Golden Knights advance to the Stanley Cup finals (they didn't win the cup....so, oh well). The Avalanche fan that I kept bumping into throughout the cruise walked out of the pub with 4 minutes to go. I was going to buy him a beer as consolation.

Well.....only one more day of my trip report.....

I think my other....less mentioned point is....that I'm learning to enjoy my adult beverages rather than just get drunk.
I wasn't suggesting you had to drink them all in one sitting...... you have all day to enjoy them, right?

OK, I'll stop. You made your decisions. Glad you enjoyed your cruise!

Well. it has been determined...

Cruise Ship Bingo day 12:

Cruise over....go home

Up early...which is the least fun part of debarkation day. But then its the end of vacation and a very long travel day....so really none of it is fun. Been doing this for years so we've learned a few tricks to make it less of a pain. Get up to the buffet early for a light breakfast before they start calling departure numbers. I learned a few trips ago that booking your flight through the cruise line comes with the added bonus of being one of the first off the ship....we had departure group #1. Plus they provide the transportation to the airport. After driving all over the Houston area before the trip it was nice to be able to sit back and actually see what the Houston area really looks like. Wisely, we made sure that our flight was after noon so arriving at the airport at 9:30am meant we would not have to rush through security or to our gate. Spent the rest of the morning just relaxing and waiting for the flight.

We volunteered to gate check our carry-ons and were again bumped up to the end of the first boarding group along with a very Texas "Thank ya all very much". All that was left was the flight. United airlines is quickly becoming my favorite. I know this is all personal opinion but I've yet to have a bad experience on their flights.

Landed back in Vegas and got an Uber back home.....and that's the end of my vacation trip report.

Thank you all for coming along on this journey with me.....sorry I didn't take more photos....I'm usually enjoying the moment too much to take pictures.
