Seeking a "Medium" Razor to beat the crunch

So this is another "what's a good X" thread/question.

I'm looking for a Medium razor if such a thing exists, one that's affordable and reliable. I have two DEs for daily and my wonderful Feather Kamisori from @Sara-s

Both my DEs are Feather, being the popular and adjustable, and both are reliable mild shaves, with the adjustable offering an "aggressive" setting but the comb and head are still technically mild.

I'm not yet seeking a totally "aggressive" or "efficient" razor yet, something middle of the road to get the feel of things. My main issue is on my 2 passes and touchup I can hear the sound of the hair "crunching" as if being cut, and I can feel the blade, but when feeling the face and cleaning up, I can still feel and see the stubble and the mild shaves can't cut the thicker/stubborn stubble despite alternative angles and pressure + skin pulling. Any recommendations with alternatives help!
 
Just a thought given some of your past issues, have you tried adding in a 3rd pass instead of getting more aggressive?
 
I would explore different blades in your current razors too. Gillette 7oClock and silver blue are very good and have slightly different edge geometry that might work better for you. Both are quite sharp and will outlast a feather by several shaves.
BIC chrome are very similar to feather but also have different geometry that could perform or feel better.
Sometimes a different blade changes everything.
For me, a red tip with 7oClock yellow blade provides a significantly more “aggressive” shave than the same razor loaded with a persona or Astra

I've done so. I had a sample pack and spare blades from older packs I've had, tried them all with the Adjustable and to much similar results (Also picked and chose what felt and worked the best).

I mean I'm still getting great shaves but those stubborn hairs get annoying as they become noticeable by the next hour.
 
What is affordable to you ? $50 and below? To me, my Edwin Jagger DE89 is efficient, yet not aggressive. Some people consider it mild. I think of it as closer to medium but leaning slightly to the mild side of medium. It's under $40. on Amazon.
 
Razorock Gamechanger .84. All machined stainless steel, less than $100, a great daily razor.
