Great shave today after a few days going full "stubble bum". I've been rotating this and Aqua Velva and this I've slowly started to prefer. The scent is light and pleasant, nothing too special (i do think AV has the edge in the scent department) but the feeling is immaculate. Despite the name, this juice is pretty mild on further review, but the menthol in here really, really lasts and works. Aqua Velva is a little more bracing, but has a comfortably cool Menthol after effect, but skin bracer feels like you're putting cold water on your face instead of alcohol before the Menthol kicks into overdrive. Very very refreshing, and the vanilla-y powderyness is great.

Nothing beats a Classic...
But it can have a rival. Still in between this and Mennen Skin Bracer. I can confirm that this does win in the scent and refreshing and more immediate bracing feel department, as in its cold and cooling immediately. But, Mennen has maintained the longevity and lighter feel, also at a great price. I mean 4 dollars for 3 oz of AV vs 3 bucks for Mennen at 6oz is pretty significant. Mennen isn't immediately all that refreshing though does feel lighter and less bracing, but give it about a minute and your face is practically frozen in a blanket of cooling menthol, which lasts several minutes compared to a cool 4-5ish with Aqua Velva.
Maybe I could just shut up and combine the two at some point once they hit the 1 or so ounce mark. Heh. Williams and Mennen Classic Ice Blue Skin Bracer. Sounds pretty Cool, actually.
I typically splash my face with witch hazel before applying aftershaves.

Same here. Unless I am nicked all over or feel stinging across the face when I reapply soap on my second pass, I usually opt to skip the Alum and use styptic to spot check myself, and then do the Witch Hazel with aftershave after drying. Been avoiding most irritation this way.

Jokes aside, using this as I had a pretty blah shave and wanted that cooling, semi-numbing relief. Blade was too mild but I wanted to see the shave through. Also, it's nearing Summer down here in FL so it's a nice touch to go with for my day.
