Yes, Chris of CBL Soaps has always been pretty open and willing to share. Here’s a thread from a long time ago where he shared some know how:

I’ve thought about it, but I’ve got so much soap as it is, I don’t need to add any more to my stockpile.

I've been making bathing soaps for decades, but never bothered with shaving soap or cream. There are so many choices, cheap and expensive, why bother reinventing the wheel?

It’s something that I would like to do. Been thinking that will be something I will try after retiring.

I just spotted this thread. Yes, I do make the shave soap that my husband & I use. I use melt & pour bases, as I do not feel like handling lye (needed to make it from raw ingredients) in my kitchen.

The soap itself is a blend of 3 types of bases- a “shave soap base”- which is really just a high-lather base, a shea butter base and a goat milk base. Between them, I get a good lather and some nice moisturizer for the skin. I add some powdered clay for some extra slickness. I also add some honey, which smells good and is a mild antiseptic.
