On A Texan Shaves, Bary Bedford's YouTube channel, he does something annually called "Blizzard Battles" around June. This will be his 3rd. In year 1, 2024, if I remember correctly, PAA Frost Byte and Chiseled Face Cryogen took 1st and 2nd place. Since you are a menth head, you might enjoy watching these. Thursday morning’s lousy experience:

Hot shower

The shave itself was great but the soap and aftershave are………horrible. As I’ve said before I’m trying to finish them off so I can be rid of them - perhaps another two uses for the soap and three more uses for the aftershave and then OUT!

Nice shave! Joe's soap base is terrific. I have several SAS tubs. How mild is that Hawk v2? I've been thinking about dipping my toe into the world of AC razors but worried about them being too aggressive with too much blade fell.

AC Razors - you might dip your toe but you'll be up to your knees in no time LOL It's a slippery slope as all of our desires. I really like my V2 - very light as it's aluminium - I generally use a guarded blade and then no worries about aggressiveness.
It will zip around your face like a Maserati. I prefer the AC or Injector blades as they are stiffer than a DE. AC you can also use in Kamisori and Shavette razors so it's very versatile.

"Best Shave of the Week" candidate this morning. Returned to CBL Premium Shave Soap and Chris and Dave's phenomenal collab, "Hombres Barber Shop" shave soap & tonic. Incredible scent with an equally incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave tonic & vintage Avon "Black Suede" EdC.

Just a set I got on the cheap. (I think $12 for the soap, and about the same for the splash). A cologne scent. Nothing phenomenal, but definitely wearable. The soap base provides sufficient protection; though it's certainly not amongst my favorites. Overall, a decent shave today.

CBL's aftershave tonic is so good that I rarely use balm afterward with it. I always always smile whenever I read your quote about a great shave and a hot cup of coffee. Sweet looking brush!
