The latest Kent formula lathers really well. I really like the light soapy scent. Bleu de Chanel made for an awesome finish.

This morning we finally had a warm day. Took the dog on a 2.5 mile walk and got hot. I decided to do a frozen shave. All the software products i used in today's shave were mentholated. The PAA Frost Byte is quite a face freezer. The Osage Rub as my aftershave is a chiller and it smells terrific. I had DFS finish.

Yea, I guess the name is a nod to IT. Todah! Doing a lot more walking since we got our rescue dog in mid December. She is a high energy girl and needs the physical and mental stimulation. Have a great evening too.

• Bowl: Fine Accoutrements – Stoneware Lather Bowl
• Brush: Semogue – 2000 (Boar)
• Razor: Eldrormr Industries – MM24
• Blade: Accuforge – GEM Microcoat
• Soap: Wholly Kaw – Chypre Rose Concerto
• Aftershave: Floïd – The Genuine After Shave
• Balm: Stirling – Unscented Post Shave Balm
• Fragrance: Oil Perfumery – Our Impression of Ermenegildo Zegna’s Indonesian Oud

As I have been exploring rose scents, I was very fortunate to have a kind soul send me a rather generous sample of Wholly Kaw’s Chypre Rose Concerto. WK certainly has a very good base that deserves its terrific reputation. It provides excellent slickness and protection. I will admit that I have not gotten as voluminous a lather as I might like from it. It seems rather thirsty, but for as much water as it seems to want, it does not become as thick as I think it should. Perhaps this is what it is, and I should respect it as such.

The other issue with their base is that sometimes I am not sure if I am working with the tallow or the vegan one since I am using samples that folks have sent or that I purchased from Maggard’s. Both bases are full of outstanding ingredients along with a few synthetic things that I cannot pronounce.

Chypre Rose Concerto has a gorgeous scent. It is deeply floral and enchanting. It smells of real flowers. I do enjoy it for shaving, but I almost find it a touch too feminine. I know that it is meant to “mellow” into an “amber/woody” scent, but I am not sure what that would look like given that I only have the soap. But, if florals are your thing, this is absolutely lovely. I don’t know that I should have put the Floïd on after, but the Indonesian Oud paired very well. I had a great experience with this soap and am grateful to have received a generous sample where I can reach for it several more times.

Have an awesome day, friends!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave this morning. Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's new "Forest Dragon" shave soap. Fantastic spicy, green scent with incredible lather built with the WWBW badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, Pitralon Classic aftershave lotion, CBL Premium Barber Powder & Geo. F. Trumper "Wild Fern" EdC.

BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Nice shave! Joe's soap base is terrific. I have several SAS tubs. How mild is that Hawk v2? I've been thinking about dipping my toe into the world of AC razors but worried about them being too aggressive with too much blade fell.
