Any of you guys (all inclusive of gals) do 3D printing? I got excited about it on our last trip when people left 3D printed magnets on our door. I'm trying to tell myself I don't need to get into it. And a little concerned about the noise as it would be in our main room.

That is a Deeeeeeep expensive rabbit hole… so, do it i will send you links LOL

I know several people who have one locally. And I'm good friends with a guy that owns a store in town doing 3-D prints. I've had him do a few things for me. Standing next to his machines, I can barely hear them running.

I would like to get one for myself, but I'm scared of all the crap that I would end up printing.

Here's some Boo-Bees that he made me.

My sons and youngest daughter all have printers. My oldest son has several AND teaches a class (technically it a school club) at his school where he has several more printers. Good quality printers have become amazingly low cost. For cost a few good cigars a month you can have access to unlimtted files and tools too. One thing to consider is your compute power, you will want or need a decent computer to take advantage of all that 3D printing can offer. I think the last couple printers my son bought (includeing the one my youngest uses) are Bamboo...i could be wrong. One thing I DO know is you want to scope out the printer you want then wait for them to do a promo or sale, you get incredible disocunts or upgrades by waiting.

My son has programs (that dont cost much) that allow him to scan objects or upload images and create a 3d image file. Cost used to be a big factor but now it seems to be much less. I dare say you can be a 3d beast for less than a box of your favorite cigars.

edit: my daughter uses a pretty basic laptop and has a modest level printer and is capable of doing pretty much anything she has wanted to do

There are Several threads on here where several of the members here discuss 3D printing and Our 3D printers and makes and whatnot.. We discuss shave related and other types of makes and where to find STL files And types of filaments and other related stuff ..

...ok, i asked. My daughter has a Bambu printer and my son has several different levels of Bambu. There is also a Creality brand that work well and might offer features you would want.

Well, I assume now it’s a slam dunk. Dave will be showing us his 3-D Prince Of bougie scotch, and charcuterie boards.

Yes, I've gathered just because of the support offered that Bambu is the way to go. Trouble is I mentioned to my wife what low cost is it to get a starting printer. But of course, who doesn't want the ability to print in 4 colours??

Well, I likely would have ordered one in the near future. If I didn't buy a watch at the show tomorrow, then as soon as I got home. If I did buy one, then I'd order the printer a day or two later but with more guilt attached. But now he throws in the idea of waiting for a sale...

There may be a May the 4th sale and they usually have a anniversary sale around June , there may be other sales too with mother's day and fathers day and Memorial Day coming up..

There's a 3D printer right next to my desk at work. I'm often printing out fun stuff when we're not printing out test pieces or samples. What do you need Bougie? I already printed a lightsaber for myself.

Here's my 3d printer....

And here are a few of the items I've printed that aren't work related...

The first things after I learn how to use it will be magnets for people's doors on the cruise.
