Nurse Dave's Journal

Oh, @BarberDave it's a bummer you weren't visiting now. We had a fun earthquake. Instead of the sharp jarring or shaking, last night it more of a gentle rocking to and fro like someone grabbed the footboard of the bed and was trying to rock to you sleep.
Slow rolling is caused by liquefaction. You're on less than solid ground there, Bougie.

Sitting at the airport listening to a couple discuss if they should head to the gate with 15 til boarding. Ladies, let the guys have the airport logistics. It may make no sense but it’s a stress level thing. Yes, getting to the next step in the process even if just to sit there does make sense.

Why would you NOT be at the gate 15 minutes before boarding? Just hope that those two are not seated directly behind you on the plane and also in the cabin immediately next to you. That's how vacations get ruined.

Logistics messed up and Dave is stuck between them in the normal people seating area.

This will be the set-up for the next 2 weeks with a little rotation in soap. Unfortunately my little bottle of Thayer’s leaked mostly out so I’ll have to be raw dogging most of my shaves. It will be a little experiment as to what happens without my post-shave routine.

Without his usual post shave care......Bougie's skin went downhill fast. He gave up shaving by day two.....showering stopped on day 3. Wearing clothes stopped before the cruise began.

Well....its been a week since Bougie....our beloved Dave of the Nurse variety drifted off the floating piece of wood and sank to the icy depths. Serves him right for not packing a change of waterproof inflation shorts on his cruise.
He lived a full and fine smelling life. He was a gentleman and a scholar...but only when no one was looking. His accomplishments in life will follow him to the next plane and beyond...mostly because of on-going litigation but also because of those that loved him. I can't think of any at the moment but I'm sure there are a few. To them I say "don't weep because he's gone...weep because he forgot to leave instructions on who gets his watches". Dibs on that one with the really nice face.....the one with actual numbers.

Bougie leaves behind many great stories.....the one about the free salad. And the other one about the free salad. I'm sure there were others....salads that is.....not stories. He was terrible at telling stories. And not very good at eating salads.
His most joyous times were when he was not dealing with any of the nonsense of the world. To be honest....he seemed like a reluctant recluse with an overabundance of free time.
And don't get me started on his many interpersonal relationships....like the one with his Amazon delivery person. Or the one with the mail person. The UPS driver was high on his list of favorite people.

But let's not be sad that he's gone.... let's be happy that we won't have to see any more photos of his shower. That water spot to the right was always going to be there.
The Northern California Board of Charcuterie has decided to honor him....not as a distinguished member of their community but as someone that "pressed on" even when his olives were dry. And when his crackers were crumbly. The 21 carrot stick salute was incredibly touching and well choreographed.

In closing....let's not forget Bougie or his misdeeds....let's remember his other deeds....the ones that were not as mis......I'm not sure what the opposite is mis is....maybe they're just deeds....but let's remember those. At least when questioned by reporters and legal authorities.

Thank you.....now, can anyone validate my valet ticket?....leave it to Bougie to not have parking for his Memorial.

I'm sure what you meant to say was "touching words and a fine memorial to a dear friend" but leave it to drunk siri.
