Tobacconist smells like my grandfather's tobacco barn, and a bit of ashtray. So the top notes are ash, smoke, and soap.
Mid notes are soap, and the base note is soap. The knurling on the Konsul almost makes up for the cumbersome blade loading process. And what goes with ashes? OG Mem English Leather baby. The Persian Jar is yet another Simpson brush that lives up to its mythos. Charlotte's Web sez, "Grate Shave"

Thank you Lantzman. Deciding to 3017 Tabac for the month of April is working out nicely. I'm using the second iteration of their veggie soap (2024) and I'm a fan. In fact I prefer this over the Tallow version.

This morning I was in the mood for some mentholated stuff and I grabbed the Proraso Green soap and aftershave. Ok, this setup is not overwhelmingly cold but it’s still cold enough to satisfy me. No complaints whatsoever - another great three pass BBS shave that I really enjoyed!

Another phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to PAA and their excellent Crabtree & Evelyn for Men homage, "Crabapple & Newton" suite of products. Fantastic scent! Identical to the source in all its 80's powerhouse glory. Incredible lather built with the RajonCajonBrushes synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching splash & EdP.

This Gold Dachs Spezial soap from Germany is so elegant - it cost me a LOT of money but it was well worth it. The scent is so old school and beautiful, it lathers like there’s no tomorrow, it’s really slick, and the skincare is excellent. The Lubriderm moisturizer and the Booster Mosswood aftershave were a terrific finish. Another dynamite three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed from start to finish!

Wow, that is an Old School bottle of Mosswood! It's one of my favorite aftershaves, but I've never seen that bottle before.
