I just began reading a book about the Dust Bowl. The author, setting the scene, gives this description of a farm;
“The family had hens in a coop, laying a regular supply of eggs, and a .22 caliber rifle.”

That poor hen! That must have been awfully painful.

Well, you never know what you can do when you put your mind to it. Unfortunately, they still had to buy their own ammo.
