R.I.P MY FAVE THATER

What a $hitty way to start the day. My favourite sweet spot brush, a Thater 26mm badger fan knot fell apart this morning. Prior to shaving I had soaked the brush as usual and as I flicked out excess water before loading, it split apart. 😡😡😡 The brush is around 10 years old and has been a joy to use. My first thought was that water has buggered the brush?? As far as brush care goes, post shave I flick out excess water, then lightly wipe the brush against a dry towel and store the brush on a stand with knot angled down. I reckon it's as good a reason as any to buy a new brush.

Send the handle directly to Troy Tools custom brush handles from P&C, he’s an Aussie and he can replace the knot of your choice, without damaging your thater brush handle.

I'm sure @Rudy Vey could replace it too , or any of the other brush makers on here.. Or you could order the knot and replace it yourself , they're not that hard , just using just basic tools... Just a thought.. 💭 🤔

Sad day.
You know that if you wanted to remove that knot you would spend hours steaming it and tugging on it. But since you didn't want to remove it, it just falls apart.
