What Fragrance Did You Use Today?

Maria Candida Gentile - Barry Lyndon
Following up on yesterday's licorice infused gourmand, this is a much more agrestic take, fresh fennel growing near the Mediterranean coast, along with raw saddle leather. This is one of her more grounded offerings and one of the most honest fennel notes I've come across.

1000001479.jpgNOT what I'm wearing today. I actually wore this YESTERDAY to work. I've had this bottle for a long while when I was a little younger. Picked it up at Burlington but got a discount because it was open. I used to love it and wore it lavishly, as the box suggested. Something about that zingy opening of cucumber with tobacco and amber did it for me. But now after my tastes matured so drastically it now gives me a headache, too sweet for me, but it's definitely a compliment getter. I don't recommend as it's a very young man's scent, I'm just trying to finish my bottle and move on.

Pantheon Roma Cosi Blu
Pantheon Roma week by accident continues. It's turned wintery and these thick and relatively static scents just feel good all of a sudden. But today I realized what the unifying factor is that makes me gravitate towards this lesser know house, they use wormwood in almost everything I've liked from them, and it's a note that I've always found very comforting, don't ask what that says about me. This is wormwood, aka absinthe with incense and something like oud but smoother to my nose. Really classy, and very wearable.
