New to group

John Antonioni

Shave Newbie
Hello everyone. I’m new to this group but not new to DE shaving. I have enjoyed traditional shaving since I found my grandfather’s 1958 Gillette Fat Boy in an old drawer. I learned to use that razor over 38 years ago and always felt more connected to him since. Since then, down the rabbit hole of razors, soaps and other miscellany of this hobby. Hobby? Is that the right word? Experience, habit, indulgence may be better words to describe it. I truly enjoy my daily mini spa sessions. Something just for me.

George S. Patton is one of my favourite no nonsense historical figures lest you’re wondering why his picture is my avatar. Well, George C Scott’s picture while playing him in a movie.

Welcome @John Antonioni ! Glad you could join us. What soaps, aftershaves, and brushes do you enjoy?
Thanks for asking. I’m on Martin De Candre rage right now. Testing if it will really last a full year of daily shaves. Aftershave I use most often is PAA Gondolier but I find myself using Proraso Green more often lately. Before this deep dive into MDC, I was using a lot of Caties Bubbles , Maggard Razors and Barrister and Mann soaps. I’ve got years’ worths of soap and creams tumbling about the den.

Very nice!! Some of my favorite soaps! Especially the "Fougère".
