Why use an imitation when I have so many genuine? I still use real sugar in my coffee too. My manta or code: stone, steel, leather, badger. I’m thinking of adding tallow to that list. I have a few synthetics. They just don’t interest me. Natural materials are what interest me more than anything.

Good morning Cadre! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Exceptionally nice shave this morning! Went back to @Dragonsbeard and his wonderful Bay Rum soap and skin food. This is rapidly becoming my favorite bay rum scented product. Wonderful lather whipped up courtesy of the Semogue SOC "Caravela" boar / badger brush for two passes (+ touch-up) with the W. Hohn custom razor and I finished with the matching skin food and several sprays of Barberry Coast (formerly Hemingway Accoutrements) "Nature Isle" EdP.

I told my wife that Arizona and New Mexico get snow occasionally. I'm wanting to move out west when I retire but she wants to go somewhere that gets snow. We may have to adopt a "long distance marriage".

I spent several years in Newport News VA back in the Navy so I'm already familiar with continual "road construction" season (and hurricanes), so that's a hard pass for me.

Is recreational cannabis legal there? That would probably be the only way I could live there and cope with the cold..

Yes it is legal. Has been for a couple of years now, So all the bugs are out, so to speak.

Haha. Yeah that happened. But usually there was one weekend in late September that would be perfect, then come early October the leaf peepers would invade.
