Florida Water AS

The Process-
Early morning shave today. I haven’t had the Krokos on deck in a while, so it got the nod. This soap has a nice light scent, so you can really pair it with any AS. I loaded it for 30 seconds with the Zenith and it whipped up a ton of lather.

15 laps on Cotton and 40 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Great shave today. It was nice and relaxing, but I did lose the scent during the shave. I scored a BBS for the win too. Very nice! I did notice my hinge getting loose, so I will adjust that this evening. I had a lot of lather left for the post shave while I cleaned the shave gear. That was greatness.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! That was the right follow up for a great shave. Life is good!

Home Front-
Well since you guys were crushing my creative writing style, I am nixing my plans to author children books. And with that, I have nothing else for you. Have a great day.
Did you say Krokus??!?!?!

Long overdue, but caught back up!

No issues with the splash except for the same scent (it’s the same as the soap). But the dry down leaves the skin feeling good. Was setting with the missus for breakfast and she could smell the splash. Then she said “That smells good.” And that was a sincere approval ... well crap. So I may not be in a rush to finish this one off ... we’ll see.
I'll say this, The MF soap is just meh, to me. I wont re-buy that But the aftershave is amazing and in a league of it's own. I love it so much I have 4 backups at home. It has a staying power that rivals many colognes. And I like the fact that it changes throughout the course of the day and evolves. It's one of my favorites.

Stirling Piacenza soap

Stirling Piacenza AS (sample)

The Process-
Early morning shave today ... you know it. I was kinda at a crossroads this morning with choosing a soap, just because of the whole random thing. I think next week I am going back to my single work week setup. That should give things a sense of normalcy I think. Anyway, Stirling Piacenza got the nod today and that was a great choice. I’ve said it many times, but I am a big Stirling fan. A 30 second load time and I was rocking a lot of lather. Yup, still digging the scent too. I also have other artisan soaps, but Stirling consistently delivers every time.

10 laps on Cotton and 40 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. An exceptional shave and I am BBS for the win! Great lather the entire shave and I never lost the scent. I get moist, silky smooth lathers every time with Stirling. That base just works for me. After the 3 passes, there was plenty of lather left for the post shave while I cleaned the shave gear. So nice. Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! This is a sample bottle, but I have got to order a full one. Man that was a good shave. Life is good!

Home Front-
TGITHMF! That’s right friends and neighbors, I am winding down the work week. Tomorrow is Cadre Friday and I intend to enjoy it in all its glory. I will be glad to leave this stressful work week behind. Looks like I will be picking up additional job responsibilities next week, which won’t be fun. But I’ll worry about that on Monday. I am ready for the weekend.

So far, all the RR soaps that I have tried are meh, performance wise. I seem to smell powder in them also and I’m not a big powder fan. But my splashes usually outlive the soap.

They are definitely in the bargain range for a reason. Good easy lather, but no frills, for sure. They are good inexpensive, starter soaps. But it's doesn't take much to get better quality.

I have a few that I buy as giveaways and for PIFs, because they are so cheap. My son just started shaving, and of everything I showed him to try, he picked two of the RR soaps to use.

Well in his defense, he probably had shaving overload 🤪

Shave Count (DE: 384 SE: 9 SR: 447)

Pre Shave-
Strop: none
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Gillette Suoer Spoed
Blade: Wizamet blade (?)
Brush: RR 400 synth
Soap: WSP Gaelic Tweed

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: WSP Gaelic Tweed
Frag: none

The Process-
Late morning shave, which is my typical weekend shave. Gaelic Tweed got the nod for today’s shave and that was a good choice. 20 second load time and I whipped up a really nice lather. Had it a tad wet and it was great! In spite of the lather, I am still on the fence with synthetic brushes. I had originally wanted to yank out this knot and replace with a TGN boar. Now I’m kinda torn and might like to try a boar/badger mix. If I can find one that will fit the handle.

I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. I was kinda lazy and went with a DE today, but it’s all good. I had an outstanding shave and I am BBS for the win! Great relaxing shave that was easy peasy. I did try something a bit different with the shaving stokes, nothing earth shattering. And it worked well. I went with a quicker, shorter stroke and that seems to eliminate buffing for me. I had plenty of lather for a post shave lather while I cleaned the shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yup, I’m digging today’s scent choice. I don’t follow up with many frags, simply because I don’t have them. Not an issue and I am not falling down that rabbit hole. The AS choices that I have made carry the scent long enough for me to enjoy them. Life is good!

Home Front-
Got the mowing taken care of yesterday, thank goodness. Have a few chores to knock out, including a wall outlet that blew out yesterday. And we’ll see what else the day brings.

@NurseDave it wasn’t me. Tripped a breaker in the kitchen. Don’t know how because we were outside. Flipped it back on and this outlet in the garage blew. Old house with old wiring :(
