The Process-
Early morning shave and I decided to start this Monday off a bit different. Mondays always seem a little stressful, so I am starting the week off relaxed. I'm going with a Lavender shave, a muscle relaxer and two fingers of Gentleman Jack. JK, not really. Grabbed a bit of the Lavender and put it in my copper bowl. Grabbed the DSC and got after it, adding water as I went. I whipped up a ton of Lavender goodness ... my gosh I had a lot of lather going. Got the consistency I wanted and started working it on the face with circular scrubbing and paining strokes. This brush has bloomed out rather large, so it covers a lot of ground rather quickly.

I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was an outstanding shave and I enjoyed the Lavender scent throughout the entire shave. The slickness and residual slickness was very good and will allow for buffing if needed. The Gillette delivered a very good, easy peasy shave and I am BBS for the win! Had plenty of lather left for a post shave lather while I cleaned the shave gear. Man that was a ton of lather. Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yes ... yes it was. Man that was just a great shave to start the week off. Now I am ready for the day! Life is good!

Home Front-
Just a bit more waiting.

B&M Vespers AS

The Process-
Early morning shave and it was enjoyable. Since I scored the Vespers AS yesterday, the set was on deck today for a trial run. On this soap, I cannot pick out a single scent note. But the scents seem to blend together well and work. I would describe it as warm, but that's all I got. I used a damp boar brush and loaded for 30 seconds. I also added water as I built my lather. I built up a nice lather, but looking back, I should have added a bit more water. I'll have to play with this one a bit more.

Had a brain fart and skipped the leather this morning. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was a very nice shave and the scent held throughout the shave. I was really enjoying the shave trying to grasp the complexity of the scent, but it escaped me. No problems at all with slickness or residual slickness and I am DFS for the win! That's on me, I missed a smidge in my trouble area. I had enough lather for a post shave lather, but it was not like the massive amount that I had yesterday. It was still usable and didn't dry out while I cleaned the shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! I can't place it either, but the AS starts out with a slightly different scent that fades quickly. It then settles down and smells exactly like the soap. The AS was applied with no sting or anything and the dry down was very nice. I still need a bit of work on the hydration of the soap, but the set is a keeper. And as a bonus, it is missus approved. Life is good.

Home Front-
The missus is still taking meds for her stones, but her comfort level has improved. Last week was a heavy week for me. I had mentioned a heavy, oppressive force moving into our community. Like a terrible storm, rolling in and inflicting massive damage. I have seen this several times over the years and I am always filled with a sense of dread when I see it on the horizon. This time was no different, but the duration of the storm was shorter. Although shorter, yesterday the fury and damage was not minimal as hundreds were lost. It amazes me how one house can be destroyed, while the one next door remains standing. I witnessed this carnage this time as well. Once again our house stood strong, while a friend and neighbor's house was destroyed. I am truly thankful and yet saddened at the same time. I am told that was the last one. But I seem to recall that they said that the last time. Today starts anew with rebuilding the community. Assuming new tasks and responsibilities while mourning the loss of others. Today I am both thankful and sad. Time to move forward.

Glad the missus is improving little by little. Prayers for your family and community.

Oppressive forces as you say are probably the single thing that really frightens me about moving into the Southern US; it seems to be happening a lot more often as the years march in too.

Thanks Chris!

Florida Water AS

The Process-
Early morning shave today. I haven’t had the Krokos on deck in a while, so it got the nod. This soap has a nice light scent, so you can really pair it with any AS. I loaded it for 30 seconds with the Zenith and it whipped up a ton of lather.

15 laps on Cotton and 40 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Great shave today. It was nice and relaxing, but I did lose the scent during the shave. I scored a BBS for the win too. Very nice! I did notice my hinge getting loose, so I will adjust that this evening. I had a lot of lather left for the post shave while I cleaned the shave gear. That was greatness.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! That was the right follow up for a great shave. Life is good!

Home Front-
