Gents, my apologies for the tone of my shave post this morning. I am better now and thought I would share a snippet from a children's book that I may write, at some point in the future...
I begrudgingly started the day with a shave. Great shave, but it was overshadowed. The tension in the air was thick this morning, it was crushing and ominous. Today was the day. As I stepped off the old wooden porch, I was filled with bitterness and defiance. I saddled up the horse, cinched down the long gun and headed out towards town. I was on a mission to see how the township had weathered this ordeal.
The oppressive force that I have spoken of, appears to be releasing it's grip upon our township. It leaves as quickly as it arrived. It will be leaving both destruction and despair in it's wake. Many have suffered and I am truly saddened. I have lost some that I knew well. Our house has been spared and for that I am thankful. And yet, tomorrow we begin a new day.
