TSC Gamer Thread

If you want to get into pc gaming and you have the money and the knowledge, ie what to look for as far as parts go, get the best you can at the time. building a pc with higher end parts that may cost more will have the pc last longer and you wont have to upgrade as often. it can get costly as well if you chase the latest and greatest. if you want to get into pc gamming. console gamming has gotten to the point tho that you arent going to see much of a difference in quality when compared to pc gamming unless your going for super high end graphics and better Fps. im not sure what the frame rates of games are these days on console havent really looked much into the current console hardware and what they can produce. the other caveat with pc gamming is that if you were going to build a high end system some parts are to get right know due to the pandemic, so if you wanted to build a pc maybe right know isnt the right time to do so.

Thanks for the replies guys.
It sounds like the easiest way for me to start or try is to find some type of console. I don't want to be dumping lots of money into this computer. For one thing, I don't know if I'm going to enjoy or really have the time to play games. Secondly, as Novicewetshaver said, the prices for parts are going through the roof. I talked to a couple of guys at a PC store today. I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home and went next door to the PC shop. Boy, that was enlightening. They were talking about crazy stuff and showing me shoot 'em-up space games on a computer screen that was amazing. I started asking about what it would cost to fix up my computer and the prices were way over my spending.

So, A console. Maybe I can stop by a second-hand store or pawn shop and find something to try out?
Guessing it would plug into my monitor with an HDMI cable as the monitor has two ports plus a couple more. Time to start reading about that too. LOL.

But for now, I need to google what an Emulator and ROM are!

yea unfortnetly pc prices are insane right know, gpus are going for what a whole system used to cost. it would prbly be better to get a console if you dont want so spend a lot of money. i believe the switch is the cheapest right know and its been out for a while, sounds like your a nintendo guy. i believe you are right on the plug and play aspect of them,my guess is just an hdmi cable and your good to go if your not doing anything fancy in terms of setup.

Last edition CoD Warzone game is out (new, separate game from the previous Warzone, which will be phasing out). Fun, a bit of a different feel than first iteration.

It’s free to play, so I ain’t complaining too much!

Santa brought lots of games:

Pokémon Scarlett Nintendo switch
Splatoon 3 Nintendo switch
Minecraft Nintendo Switch
Gabby Dollhouse board game (I make a beautiful princess ask my daughter)
Exploding Kittens card game
Jenga
Charades the boy is real good at guessing
Farkle can I sneak my daughter in a Vegas casino to throw the dice for me? The luck this girl has!

A great day of family gaming today. Was a nice day.

Also those that join Zoom game night. Install Exploding Kittens on your phone, we can do this game.

Having the PS5 and everyone in the house being extreme Harry Potter fans…I preordered Hogwarts Legacy…how could I not?! Looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun!
