Yuma Razor

TSC's "Velveteen Shaver"
Folk on another board we’re asked to list the smoothest razor they shave with. Several of the members whom I respect greatly acknowledged the Yuma raiser from Turkey. No I happened to know that this is a very inexpensive razor which was also acknowledged. Despite that people continue to rave about the smoothness and efficiency of the shave. Has anyone on this board had a similar experience?

Enjoy your shaves,

Jeff

Well, you read my response on that other board, so you know it’s one of my favorite razors.

I'm actually considering buying a few more, to have as backups. I love it so much better than razors costing 10-20 times as much. I know the build quality isn't great, so it wont last forever. I'd rather have a few on hand to just replace it if it breaks.

Well, yeah, it's not like I was saying it's only going to last a year or two..... But also, how often do you use yours? Since I got mine in February, I've probably used it for 50% of my shaves. And over the last 2 months, probably more like 80%.

I'm just saying that with heavy use, eventually somehting will happen to it. It's cheap pot metal, so a few accidental drops will probably do it in. And the finish isn't great, so water may eventually seep into the cap or post and start deteriorating the metal. I'd rather just be prepared for that eventuality.... And if it never hapens, even better. But at $8 each, have a couple on hand is easy to do.

Oh, I agree and wasn't knocking having an extra. It was my daily and only driver for 3-4 years and the one I pif'd was my back up when they were like $1.50 from Best Shave in Turkey. I don't use it enough anymore but do like the shave it gives obviously. I should get another back up but can't bring myself to pay $8 knowing how cheap they were...............just a stupid in my head thing 🤪
