Year end things I am thankful for in the shaving community

Saw a post recently of the opposite of this so thought I would bring up so good things.

1. Being a part of this great forum. And taking part in TSC convention April 2024.
It was one of the best times I have had with great people.
2. Also the Rudolph exchange with TSC. It is a fantastic exchange.
3. Meeting so many wet shavers at Maggards and the Ohio meet up. There are so many knowledgeable, helpful and kind people there.
4. The great customer service with so many artisans and vendors out there. Anytime I had a question or problem with anything everyone was quick to help.

Best to everyone in 2025 be safe.

Looking forward to hearing what you were thankful in the shaving community in 2024.

There are a number of wonderful things about the shaving community, which is why The Shaving Cadre is just SO cool.

For one, the generousity of others in the community is unmatched. I'm not talking about just financial generousity, so many are willing to give time and share knowledge/ideas it is amazing. The TSC community is very supportive of vendors, artisans and hobbiest who are also part of the forum. And of course, with so many guys (and ladies) watching videos and tryign new things WE are always being introduced to new products, artisans etc.

I don't usually participate in the zoom calls but that fact that we have a bunch of guys who gather on zoom calls, tune in to live youtube broadcasts, participate in side chats and attend gatherings is pretty awesome. All too often we men (can't speak for the ladies) find ourselves so immersed in the drudgery of life that we don't have time or opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. The shaving community (specifically the TSC forum) has proven a great place to meet new people and develop friendships that we would never have had otherwise.

I'll just say it.....without this forum, I wouldn't have met some incredible people. From KJ....who brought me over to this much better site after the disaster (that shall remain name-less) that I ran from....to Chad and Megan who have become our Hockey buddies. To the other two members of the Cadre 3 Stooges.......Dave and Bougie. We are all three kindred spirits in silliness and nonsense....and I'm glad to call you all my Brothers.

1) Abundance of (affordable) dupe scents. And scents that get amazingly close to the originals. (Creed, Perfume De Marleys, Dior, Sultan Old Spice, Faberge Brut; all have some great proximities in the Shave dupes. Great for those of us that can't shell out $450 for a bottle of Aventus, Green Irish Tweed, etc.)
2) Outstanding performance upgrades. This is a community that continuously sees new soap bases, and exceptional upgrades to slickness, coverage, hydration. My favorite is the Highland base from Seaforth. Easy to lather, pillowy soft lather, and the protection is phenomenal. Bonus is not too much residual slickness (a plus in my book, as once my pass is over I don't like to have to scrub my face of the residuals)
3)Sales!!!! And not a bait and switch sale you see in a lot of industries where they jack up the price before "reducing" it for the sale. Negating any sales savings.
4)Low cost equipment that still performs effectively. You don't need a thousand dollar Tedaleus to get a great shave. You can achieve a BBS shave with a simple Merkur; or even a plethora of vintage razors like Gillette Fat boys, Slim adjustable etc. I've a Rocnel sailor (not a cheap option), a Backland Blackbird, but the razor I reach for most is my trusty Merkur 47C. So much so; I picked up two more just in case I damage my original.
