Winter Strawberry crop is in...

Yup, Louisiana has a winter and spring crop of Strawberries. I find the winter crop a tad bit sweeter than the spring crop. But both are delicious.

Anyway, bought a half flat yesterday. Plan on buying more this upcoming weekend too.

Wife makes jellies sometimes. This is mostly for general consumption.

We like strawberries also. We usually keep several lbs on hand for eating plain ( with sugar or cream ) and for pies and whatnot.. We are lucky though because very near us is a place called Strawberry hill and strawberry USA so lots of fresh strawberries around here...

So we have two crops of Strawberries. Winter crop is usually harvested in Late February to Mid March WHEN IT IS WINTER. The Spring Harvest comes in April...you know...when it is Spring.
