Where Did WCS Gatsby No. 1 Go?

Late last year someone was kind enough to send me a small sample of this soap, enough for about 4 shaves. I was immediately blown away by it and decided I wanted to buy a tub. I waited until after the New Year and found it to be out of stock on WCS website. I figured, it's their number 1 selling soap and WCS is a reasonably large outfit so they should have it in stock soon. I keep looking through January and nothing. February, nothing. I write to them a couple times. First they said they should have some by the end of February or early March. Early March has come and gone and no Gatsby No. 1. I write again. Now they say they will be making some more but don't know when. I figured that Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements who makes that soap was backed up and thought patience was in order. Now I hear that apparently WCS and PAA may be going their separate ways, which means to me no more Gatsby No. 1. Just my luck. This is the pure definition of "You snooze, you lose." Procrastination is not your friend when it comes to certain things.

Stirling Sandpiper is based on the same scent & is very near identical! Great stuff. The Gatsby aftershave w/ alum made by PAA is one of the best in the business IMO but the Gatsby soap was just average to me.

I think it was the scent of the Gatsby that drew me in. I may have to try a sample of the Stirling Sandpiper. I love Stirling soaps.
