Okay everyone im still new here only a couple months in. I have been using williams since i started. Its the only soap i have tried. What next? Cella? Palmolive? Etc? I dont know soaps. Any help please?

I have not used the Soap Sample Library myself, but the link I posted in post-7 should get you started.

Thanks. My problem is i dont know what im looking for so i dont know what i want..
As @DocHoliday0831 said there are a few vendors who support the Forum, they are an excellent resource. I think @woodpusher is steering you in the right direction when it comes to the soap sample swap, you can easily explore a variety of soap brands and scents that way.

I am the owner of CBL Soap, I don’t list samples on my website (for a number of reasons) but when the moon is full I have been known to honor requests for samples. Take a stroll over to my website and see what interests you then PM me (use the CBLindsay it’s easier for me to see that one) your details.

@Joe Hackett has an incredible library of scents, most or all available in one ounce sample sizes. I highly recommend you go to his website and choose a few. Get at least one empty container from him as well and if you don’t already have a solid, reliable brush get one of his simple “cue ball” synthetics or splurge on one of his badger brushes. Trust me when I say one ounce samples pressed into a larger container will give you the best experience (compared to testing a 10gram sample scooped and pressed into whatever you use to lather).

Some people ask me what wine should I drink with this meal? White wine or red wine? I say, whateva yuh like. So, what soap should you buy next? Whateva yuh like.

I suppose it depends what you are looking for. any particular scents?
This is probably the best place to start. Once you think of some scents you might like, then do some research on what companies carry such scents, pick a couple that seem most interesting, then come back here before ordering and ask if anyone has an idea on the product.

Here's a list of some of my favorite soaps. I'm not just performance oriented but also scent oriented. If I don't like the scent I won't use it much if ever.

Stirling Barbershop
Moon Soaps Old School
Wet Shaving Products T Formula Barbershop
West Coast Shaving Gatsby No. 1
The Fat 'As (50/50 combination of Mitchell's Wool Fat and Haslinger Schafmilch)

As you can see I seem to lean towards so called "Barbershop" scents. And the last one takes a bit of work but I swear it might be my favorite of them all.

As dave said, just pick a couple and try them. One way is to try samples first. I began doing that after I realized I had a bunch of full tubs of stuff I don't like a whole lot. But the whole thing about scent is it's different for everybody. You just have to try lots of them to find what you like best. And that's the best part of this hobby. It's a journey and a world of discovery. Have fun with it and don't overthink it. It's just shaving. :p
