Wet Shaving Club Artisan Razor

I just received this 304 SS razor from Wet Shaving Club last night. This razor is designed and made by Robert Bennett in the USA and is being sold by the Wet Shaving Club for $59.99.
Initial impressions on this razor.
Fit and Finish- The tolerances are very tight, the blade is loaded onto the baseplate similar to Wolfman Guerilla or RR Gamechanger. The blade is clamped tightly and very close to the edge of the blade. It lined up perfectly with no adjustments needed. There is overhang of the blade tabs on the edges. The sandblasted finish is very well done and even throughout the razor.
How it shaves- This is a very smooth razor with minimal blade feel. I would rank it on the mild side of medium aggressiveness but it delivered a very easy 3 pass WTG,XTG, ATG Shave. There is no blade chatter at all. The handle provides very good grip even when wet, it is on the shorter side, but is very well balanced. I will need to use this for a few shaves but my first impression is if you are a daily shaver and are looking for comfort and don’t mind doing a 3 pass shave this razor is worth looking into. Here are a few pics, one next to my Timeless Ti to give some perspective of size.7581D6C5-74DF-409D-B42C-8404C976737B.jpegAE2304F2-E12F-4890-B241-CA6FE348A401.jpegC9E3E20D-4F8D-4511-8922-0A9C9A1E3319.jpeg

Interesting and a very well priced model. So many new SS razors coming to market. Handle looks lacking in the knurling dept. Looking forward to your further thoughts.

Interesting initial write up. Looks like the blade is supported and clamped tightly along both sides to keep blade flex to a minimum. Watching closely is I.... (y)

I emailed Robert, the gentleman who makes this razor, and it is a neutral blade exposure with a 0.02 inch blade gap. After getting in a few shaves with this razor I am finding it to be a very enjoyable shave and the price is hard to beat for 304 SS made in the USA.

I almost bought one of these a few months ago from his Etsy store. The thing that threw me off was in his description he said you can adjust the aggressiveness by applying more pressure. Happy to hear you are having a good experience with the razor. It’s back on my radar now for a travel SS razor.

Looks like Jake at Yates Precision has teamed up with Wet Shaving Club and produced this nice piece of kit. A 316 SS 3 pc that sports a nice industrial look that’s similar to the stonewashed look of the 921 from Yates. The handle looks really good with the head unit (top cap really) having those slight machined indentations on either side to facilitate blade removal without having the blade tabs exposed for those that are weary of that. Makes no difference to me but, it’s a nice design feature to have. For the money, looks like a well designed and machined product....
