1st and foremost we would like to thank all our members for their patience during these past few days. This post will give a quick, basic synopsis of what transpired and the causative factors in The Shaving Cadre Forum being out of commission. It should be noted, as was mentioned on a quick YouTube short that was published, that the ownership of The Shaving cadre, is the three partners:

Chris Lindsay ( @CBLindsay )
As such all day to day operations, including any moderation, administration etc is solely done by us.
We also have a Fantastic Team of "Concierge Staff"

These folks welcome members, assist in site navigation, steer content, content creation, and items that the owners cannot always get to right away.
We are and consider ourselves a "Self Moderated" forum, and that is a testament to you, and my saying that "You are the Lifeblood of the Forum" Years ago we were scoffed at, being told a self moderated forum would devolve into mad house and it would be chaos. Well all these year later, we feel, and hope you do too, that we have the most cordial, and knowledgeable, and most friendly Gentlemanly Forum on the Internet. We may not be the biggest but we feel we are the best!
All that being said we are a small operation and "Things Happen", as did this past week.
1. We have both a Software Provider ( Xenforo ) the site and look of the Site
2. We have a Hosting Service ( Blue Host ) this holds our data and is where the data resides.
They are separate companies, and frankly do no communicate very well. As many have experienced up to our site going offline, we were having some posting issues, trouble getting on the site, etc. When we forced the latest update ( which some code-lines were corrupted) we did not know that the Hosting Company had limited some of our data storage and the software update put us over the top. Through a thorough investigation much more was found which is not important to this narrative, however needless to say it appears to have been a storage issues. At no time was there a data breach, hacking, or any situation that put member data at risk. Simply stated it was a storage, file corruption, and data issue.
You WILL notice that all posts and the actual forum has been rolled back to Wednesday 8/7/2024. This was necessary to identify the bad code, and allow us to retrieve Data, and to allow a fresh reinstall of the newest software update.
Moving forward, you will also notice, we have archived some threads and posts to maintain a buffer for storage. Not to mention these thread were not getting much traffic. Also moving forward, especially in the 1st few days of the forum being back on line, we need your assistance.
1. Any issues that you have on the Forum from a technical standpoint i.e. logging in , posting problems etc. post those comments in this thread
2. please clear your Cache and History ( initial log in may be a bit slow ) that is to be expected
3. for the time being TAPATALK will be disabled, until we can verify it works with this update
Please do not try to re-create any posts that you may have made from 8/7/2024 - 8/9/2024 and start fresh from 8/10/2024. We are trying to maintain a slow, smooth transition with the new updates and do not was a date bomb with recreation of posts, linked videos, memes, etc. All site functionality should be the same as before and post as normal.
