After 11 years of traditional wet shaving, I finally had a razor succumb to the effects of being made from Zamak. RIP EJ DE 89.

Now to figure out how to get the post out of the handle, so the razor isn’t a total loss.

Daayyumm..that is not great! Try a smaller drill bit, high torque, slow rpm, in reverse. It may just grab and back out.

They actually make reverse drills just for backing out screws. They aren’t expensive.
Oh no, no, No Sir! I will not buy a tool when I can engineer a solution just as easily.

It actually was quite easy. 1/16” drill bit, drilled in at an angle. Cleaned out hole, then I stuck the back end of the drill bit into the hole, and used the bit as a handle to slowly turn the post out.

It happens, but 11 years is a pretty good run for a $30-$40 razor. I only have 4 Zamak razors left, and 3 are razors I would replace if they broke. One is the R41, but I'm planning to get the GS version and use the Zamak as my travel razor. One is my Progress. I have high hopes for that one given the longevity of many of the older Progress razors. The last one is my new Heritage Collection Adjustable. I really like that one.

I wanna suggest that you're applying a bit too much pressure. Maybe going for BBS on the first pass is an unachievable goal. Either that or you need to lay off the protein shakes and free weights. Basically, take it easy HULK!

Spiiiiiidor, I'm proud of howl you pumped up!
