Thanks to bobs PiF, i got a chance to try out declaration grooming weinstrasse. I’m not sure if its the milksteak base as the jar and ingredients on the jar vs website look different. i love wine and i had no idea what to expect on opening the jar and taking the big inhale waft
Notes: white grape, honeysuckle, iris, blackcurrant bud, helichrysum, sandalwood, coumarin, oakmoss and musk.
This fragrance aims to reimagine the fougère with a white grape top note and a lush, dense supporting cast of flora and fauna that could be found on the winding trails, perfect for a beautiful day with no particular destination in mind.
I’m currently confused over what a fougere should smell like and this doesnt help at all. Fern is the base of fougeres, right? I’m gonna have to stick my face into my ferns again.
I don’t love grape juice, but i love red/white grapes and the initial hit off the puck is a sweet grape, but rich/dense and not cloying. Somehow it exists between a manishevitz, dessert wine and a semisweet white. Thankfully, for me, that scent transitions from sweetness to the more interesting iris and bitter/smokey currant and almost feels smokey. Maybe its the sandalwood. Whatever it is, its way more enjoyable to me than the straight up initial sweetness hit.
i’m guessing it’s gonna need some hydration, but first impressions were positive. Thanks for the PiF Bob!

WEINSTRASSE - CHATILLON LUX COLLABORATION
Founded by German immigrants searching for a new home after fleeing an authoritarian rule in the 19th century, the Missouri Rhineland is named after its German counterpart due to the similar rich, fertile soil along the sloping banks of the Missouri River. The Missouri Weinstrasse features many wineries with sweet, white wines in the German tradition, along winding countryside roads. This fragrance aims to reimagine the fougère with a white grape top note and a lush, dense supporting cast of flora and fauna that could be found on the winding trails, perfect for a beautiful day with no particular destination in mind.
