I have had this synthetic brush for quite some time now and have no idea who made it. I bought it restored on eBay for a really good offer price (still surprised the offer was taken). It has a 20mm synthetic knot that is very soft. The ergonomics of the handle shape are really nice.

The only information I know is that it has a marking stating that it was made to be sold in Rexall pharmacies. Any help with the maker and approximate production time frame would be greatly appreciated.

Klenzo brand, based on the symbol on your brush. Also found some references to them and that pharmacy.

Still looking, but this is hopefully a start?

So, from what I found (and take it with a grain of salt, I had to piece things from ads, forums, etc): It appears there were sold exclusively at Rexal pharmacies. Klenzo seem to not produce their own, but rather rebrand things like Rubberset, etc.

Also found a lot of ads for Rexal pharmacies from the 50s, not that it's a guarantee of when that was made / sold.

Here's a similar looking from Rubberset, I believe, which leads me to believe they may be the actual manufacturer of that brush.

Whew. I hope I got at least some of that right. Anyone?

Wow awesome collection @TobyC ! Thanks for the info.

I just guessed at the rubberset because I read Klenzo didn't make their own, they contracted other brushmakers and that one looked similar to a Rubberset I'd found. Lol.

Seems like that design is made by many others, too.

Klenzo, Rex, and Stag were Rexall Drug Store brands on their shave brushes.

There used to be a great resource called "Old School Shaving Brushes" but sadly it is no more.

You can find some of it on "The Wayback Machine", see if this works for you.

I do not think they were made by Rubberset.

Here's mine.View attachment 30322View attachment 30323View attachment 30324View attachment 30325
