There's been talk elsewhere and I knew it was coming to pre-order but I'd prefer the Paradigm Diamond back if I was taking another leap....I remember Tradere from back in the day. It was one of the first real artisan DE razors. It was highly sought after and people spoke very highly of it. I’d heard that Blackland was bringing it back, but this is the first I’ve heard of it being ready (or nearly).
I owned the original which was open comb stainless steel. It was never stated if they used 316 or 303 stainless steel and it didn't matter to me because I never thought about it. That was about 7 or 8 years ago. The price was $169 . The build quality was very good but the shave just average. I sold the razor. About a year later they ca,me out with a closed comb and it was being sold by Bullgoose Shaving. Phil was kind enough to send me a loaner to give my opinion. The shave was not impressive at all. I couldn't get a BBS no matter how many passes I did. Phil used the same razor and agreed with me. Even so the new version looks great I am not interested in buying one further more the price has been jacked up to $265 (303 stainless steel) . The razor has a flat head and I think the idea was copied from Pils.

Very informative, thank you..
I don’t care for the Pils .
@slantman I am so glad you posted your original Tradere experiences as I posted (on another board) my trial with a 1st gen Tradere OC and found the shave cumbersome and average at best. It seems to pull lather around without being efficient at all - it reminded me of a Gillette New Long (open) Comb. I passed on a BST $325 Tradere around the same time because of my experience - no doubt there is value as a collectable but I prefer to use my razors. I stand by my opinions that the original Tradere was neither nimble or efficient despite @Dragonsbeard, my friend and someone I respect when it comes to wet shaving, shave-offs. I am sure he respects my opinions but some on that other (shave) board were none to pleased. I suspect this new release which is a duplicate with uniform polishing and length specs will yield the same results at least for me. Nevertheless I will be interested in the shaving experience and watching from the sidelines.
@Dragonsbeard Where can we get that little dragon or is he a special add-on prize like the toy in the bottom of a cereal box ?
Yes that was my experiences as I was not too impressed. The original price for the Tradere was $169 now $265 paid in advance. I will bet when everybody gets their new Tradere sooner or later some will sell theirs on BST.
