Guidelines
Participation in the Soap Sample Swap (SSS) is a way for TSC members to try out soaps for just a soap contribution and the cost of postage. To ensure the SSS remains a successful endeavor, TSC has established some basic guidelines to follow:
  • The Soap Sample Swap (SSS) is open to members of TSC who are in good standing and have been a member for at least 30 days with 35 quality posts.
  • Samples must be sent in a 10ml sample container. Samples from vendors can be sent in the original hard container.]
  • 10ml containers can be found on many online sales sites by searching for 10ml make-up containers
  • Samples from vendors that come in other forms (i.e. Sterling sample disk or a soft soap sent in a plastic envelope) must be put into a 10ml hard container.
  • Samples must be labeled, indicating the soap brand and scent. Please ensure that all labeling is legible. Original vendor labels or the use of a label maker is encouraged.
  • All samples sent to the SSS for trade MUST be clean and dry. New/unused samples are encouraged; however, used samples that are clean, dry and free of debris are acceptable.
  • Please label clearly on the sample container with a letter “u” or the word “used” for those samples made from an already lathered soap. If a sample is not marked “used” it will be assumed to be a new sample.
  • Trades are generally made one for one. If your trade is in high demand, a member may be allowed to trade duplicate samples for an equal number of different samples. Trading multiples is at the discretion of the SoapMaster and may not be approved based on inventory.
  • There will be NO credit. All samples or tubs in excess of the traded samples will be considered a donation to the SSS.
  • Members may participate in sample swaps as often as they wish but will be limited to five samples at a time.
  • NO PURCHASES. Members may not purchase samples from the SSS.

  • Samples from “used” soaps can be pulled by first scraping the top layer of soap aside until clean soap is visible.

A note to those interested in donating: Please do follow the guidelines, but don't get hung up on them to the point of not participating. While a label maker is great, we have plenty of samples with hand written labels that will lather just as well as the others. And we've found that when you order "10ml" containers, the volume they hold actually vary quite a lot from one company to another. Such is the nature of the internet and not something to get hung up on if your containers look different than someone else's. This is just a service we're providing for each other, so enjoy!
