Shannon's Soaps Silk Pajamas

Those of you who have read the Clown Puke thread may know that I recently was given a Shannon's Soaps sample (Lavender Lemongrass). Not needing any more soaps, I was just simply browsing the shop's website to see what they offer. Oops. So I discovered I needed to buy their Special Edition Silk Pajamas, which at $15 sits in the middle of their price range.

The soap lathers easily with a moderate amount of water. The thick, creamy lather feels silky to the touch. The aroma is amazing, sort of a powdery Irish Tweed clean scent. Each pass brought out the aroma in stronger waves. Cushion and glide are excellent, on a par with any elite soap I've used. Post shave feel is equally impressive; it left my skin feeling soft and nourished.

I'll put this on the shelf and get back to the tub I'm currently using. I look forward to revisiting this soap in the future.

Good stuff Bruce! We will get you to up past 20 soaps at some time!

But let's go back to that Lavender Lemongrass! Oh man I bet that smells good!

I've just recently gotten a couple Shannons Soaps (1 a pif and 1 a trade) and have enjoyed their quality as well. Congrats

It really does, Don. Very strong true lemon flavor, softened slightly by the lavender. I'll probably get some in the future, but I don't need any more soaps right now...

What flavors? They don't have a wide variety, but what they offer sounds amazing. Scents last a good long while.

On another forum someone posted it as anyone willing to pay shipping of $7 could have it and I took him uo on it. LD was received thru a trade

To each his own, I guess, but sometimes people blame the soap when it's something else. Every soap has its sweet spot of water, and when switching from one brand to another you need to experiment a bit. I once had trouble getting good lather from Mike's Natural Soaps, but now find it easy to bring forth exceptional lather.

They never said it was an issue lathering, I assumed the scent wasn't to their liking. I love them.

Nice thoughts about Shannon's Silk Pajamas! Her new goat milk formula is indeed a competitor amongst other top tier artisan soaps. And yes this lather is indeed of the silky type that I love! Good to see Shannon's getting some recognition as IMO they are one of the most underrated soaps & yet one of the best! The scents are fantastic!

Robert, I agree. In fact, I'll be revisiting their store when next I need to buy soap. The Lavender Lemongrass is calling me.

Finally got back to this today. Generally, I think my original assessment was accurate, though I would replace "powdery" with "nuanced". It is a softer GIT, but powdery doesn't do it justice. It is a very rich aroma which reveals itself as you shave and reapply lather. Great soap for GIT fans. Elite.

I had a tub of the Silk Pajamas in the goat milk version and to be frank I think the regular tallow from Shannon's Soaps lathers easier & better. Go figure.

Long live Haymarket Vetiver!!!!

Never tried SSP now i wonder if i might like it......tell me some of the better scents please...and Thanks..
