College football lost a treasure today. Mike "The Pirate" Leach passed away. Leach may not have invented the "Air Raid" offense...but he most certainly innovated it. I remember watching and admiring him at his head coaching spots: Texas Tech, Washington State, and then Mississippi State. He took struggling lesser known teams and gave them winning seasons. College football will not be the same after a legend like him has passed away.

Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach died Monday night after complications related to a heart condition, the school announced. He was 61.
